I agree that it’s very much move along, there’s nothing to see at the Greenmarkets right now, but seriously? It’s still worth a trip for the apples. And maybe the rutabagas and parsnips and turnips and white carrots do look very much alike, but throw a chicken on top of them and roast those guys: they’re pretty amazing.

The Telegraph notes that author JG Ballard’s home in Shanghai is being gutted and renovated to be a restaurant. This is a sad thing for architecture? And for fans of 1930s Shanghai and the history of foreigners in China? It’s annoying to see these historical buildings destroyed or renovated beyond recognition, as a lot of the architecture you see throughout China is incredibly bland....
