The Awl has a few choice thoughts about Dave Eggers’ piece on this in this week’s New Yorker.
It’s a good day for NYT quotes, ha. That said, it is a bit sad for Central Park.
I walked past this place a couple of weeks ago, on a quest for Xinjiang lamb kebobs. It looks like the kind of place that would’ve popped up in the interior of China in the mid-1990s, which I would’ve excitedly gone to check out in hope for some American fast food-ness, and walked away disappointed. However, I would’ve returned because, hey, fast food! In order to replicate this memory, maybe I’ll stop by next time I’m by the Manhattan bridge (proximity to said lamb kebobs makes this an actual likely scenario).
I have to admit I enjoy scratching the fapiao to see if I’ve won anything. Don’t think I ever have, though.

I don’t know why, but I love this song. The entire two weeks I was in Germany last month, this song could not be escaped.

Oh this IS good!
Not crazy about the video, but love the song.
My Chinese has gotten worse and worse as I never use it. I basically have one conversation, involving why I can speak Chinese. But this is great on resources for studying and keeping up. I really do really like the Chinese language, but like anything else, it takes a lot of work to be really good at it.
